A single mum with cancer given just months to live is desperate to spend her final days in her native South Africa.Angelique Borel-Saladin, 39, has been living in Scotland for 20 years, but has been battling the disease for the last five of them.
Last week she was given the heartbreaking news there is nothing more that can be done. The mum-of-two, who lives in Inverness, always dreamt of moving to her native Cape Town, but a recent trip made her sure she wanted to spend her remaining time there. She has since launched a fundraiser to complete the move with two teenage sons, Bruno and Rocko, as well as her two beloved dogs.Speaking to the Record, Angelique said: "Everything has been completely turned upside down and the rug pulled from under me.
My life is a ticking timebomb and I need to get back to South Africa as soon as possible."I am really struggling being here on my own in Scotland with no family for support.
I've been trying to be strong for my children while managing a life around this illness."It's time for me to go home and spend the rest of my time with my family."I need my fur babies and my boys by my side otherwise I can't go.
