Manchester United record goalscorer Wayne Rooney has reportedly revealed that Arsenal are participating in the upcoming Major League Soccer All-Star Game.
Rooney, head coach of MLS club DC United, spoke during a season ticket holders-only event when, according to The Athletic, he let slip that Arsenal are coming to the capital.
The 2023 MLS All-Star Game takes place in July, and DC's Audi Field home will host the exhibition match, which pits the league's best players against an overseas opponent.
As coach of the team residing at the home venue, Rooney is due to take charge of the MLS All-Stars for the match. The player-turned-coach reportedly asked about the possibility of arranging a pre-season friendly against United due to his long association with the club and could not help but have a pop at the Premier League-leaders in front of his fans.
