Rutherglen animal charity has warned against buying dogs from breeders without insurance after it stepped in to save a dying puppy.
Canine Campus Pet Rescue crowdfunded last week for life-saving treatment for Koko the eight-week-old French bulldog because her owner couldn’t afford to foot the bill.The charity, based on Hamilton Road, said the gravely ill pup was transferred into their care by former owner Jamie Comaskey, 34 – who bought her for more than £2000 from a “puppy farm” just days earlier.But they have now found themselves in a dispute with Jamie, who argues that the pup is still rightfully his.Canine Campus founder KellyAnn Stevenson said: “Koko had a 20 per cent survival rate when I picked her up.
