Rod Stewart says he won’t bow to the woke brigade and ditch his raunchier older hits like Hot Legs. The Rolling Stones axed smash hit Brown Sugar from their setlists last month after the 1971 song was ­accused of glamorising slavery.

But rocker Rod, 76, insists his saucy tunes and lyrics about women remain “worthy” of being in his shows.The Sailing singer believes that his audiences want to hear his older hits even if they were created in a “different era”.He said: “These songs like Hot Legs, Stay With Me and Da Ya Think I Am Sexy?

were all written in a different era.“But they represent that era and that is what makes them worthy.”Tonight’s The Night is a track centred on a man seducing a girl over a drink.
