Singer Sir Rod Stewart left a touching note and lay flowers at the funeral of Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld today. Mourners gathered at Celtic Park this morning to honour the life of the 83-year-old, who passed away earlier this month.
Back in the summer it was revealed that Bertie, who won the European Cup in 1967 and 14 other trophies in his two spells with the club, had been diagnosed with dementia.Celtic fan and rocker Rod had a wreath made up with a hand-written note paying tribute to the club legend.The note read: "Rest in peace my friend Bertie.
Lion of lions. Sir Roderick Stewart CBE." Dozens of grieving fans headed to St Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Glasgow's Calton area ahead of the funeral service.
