Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Boris Johnson after being quizzed about his relationship with the Prime Minister following reports of a rift between the pair.

Johnson threatened to demote Sunak from Chancellor to Health Secretary in a row over the relaxation of holiday rules. It comes as a recent poll by JL Partners for the Daily Mail showed that Sunak is more popular amongst Tory voters than the Prime Minister.

More than half of Tory voters want Sunak to replace Johnson when he leaves Number 10.During an interview with ITV's Joel Hills, Sunak was asked about the threat of a demotion following the reported rift between them.He said: "I don’t pay attention to all of these things, so I don’t think there is anything much more I can say about that."
