Richard Herd dies at 87 as Seinfield actor suffered complications from cancer

Richard Herd has died. The actor, 87, passed away on Tuesday at his Los Angeles home of complications from cancer. His wife Patricia Crowder Herd confirmed the sad news to the Richard first featured in American hit Seinfield in 1995 and made a number of appearances until the show finale in 1998.

He starred on the series 11 times as Mr. Wilhelm, a clumbsy New York Yankees executive who supervised George Costanza (Jason Alexander) after he landed a job as an assistant to the traveling secretary.

The star had a long career on the screen, that started in the 70s, and a number of credits in well-known films such as The China Syndrome, Gleaming the Ice Cube and V.
