Scots in Cumbernauld have been urged not to set off fireworks after a ‘significant gas leak’. Gas distribution company SGN said engineers are currently on site near Lye Brae in the North Lanarkshire town to resolve the issue.
Workers have put a cordon in place and Lye Brae has been closed off in both directions. The company has also published an ‘exclusion zone’ where residents should not set off fireworks while the work is ongoing.
