Widespread fly-tipping issues in Perth and Kinross are set to be eased as household waste recycling centres are expected to reopen in the region next month.
It comes after a warning last week that Perthshire had become Scotland’s dumping ground after it was discovered swathes of discarded rubbish had come from as far as 50 miles away.
Perth and Kinross is among many local authorities to have reported an increase in fly-tipping after the sites were closed in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.Local government body COSLA set a reintroduction date of June 1 after it was agreed by council leaders.Restrictions to maintain physical distancing for staff and members of the public will be put in place.
