Rayshard Brooks was shot twice in the back, with his death ruled a homicide by a medical examiner. The 27-year-old father died from organ damage and blood loss, according to a release by the Fulton County, Georgia, Medical Examiner's Office - with the autopsy performed on Sunday.
He succumbed to his injuries in hospital after being shot by police following an incident at a Wendy's drive-thru in Atlanta in which he tried to flee police.
The Brooks family's attorney Justin Miller said the incident is "a little different than say George Floyd's murder", with the "legalities" putting it in a different category.
