Starving rats have gone into a frenzy as the coronavirus lockdown drives New York City's feral rodents into acts of war. As the lockdown shutters hundreds of the city's eateries, colonies of rats who depended on discarded food sources have had to look elsewhere - and in some cases have even resorted to cannibalism to stay alive.

Bobby Corrigan, a rodentologist, told NBC News rats are moving into new territories causing widespread rat civil war as they battle for the claim to the best feeding grounds.
