'Winter blast' coming to the UK from Iceland this weekend with chilly -8C winds and more rain
Tomasz Schafernaker from BBC Weather said on Friday night that most of the UK would experience "good, bright weather" for the weekend, with ground frost expected in the south of England on Saturday morning.Scotland and the far north of England would meanwhile start the day with milder temperatures.He did advise viewers however to "make the most of the weekend" as Monday is "looking pretty wet", with a large band of rain approaching from the Atlantic for the start of the week.A total of 16 flood warnings remain in place on Saturday, with these applying to various areas on the River Ouse in North Yorkshire and the River Severn in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.
