Rare images of the leader of North Korea as a child alongside his mother have been unearthed to mark 60 years since the dynasty's ideological foundations wre laid.
On August 25 elaborate celebrations will be held to mark the anniversary of Kim Jong-il founding of Songun. Songun is a political ideological unique to North Korea that claims all problems in society can be corrected by giving priority to military affairs Ahead of the event the North Korean government released a film containing images of current leader Kim, his birth mother Ko Yong-hui and his wife Ri Sul-ju.
The 90 minute video shows Ko Yong-hui in Osandeok City in the North Hamgyeong Province - the hometown of Kim Jong-il, Daily NK reported.
