Ralf Rangnick wants to sign RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku - for the second time. The Manchester United boss took the France forward to Germany from Paris Saint-Germain, when he made him his first signing for Leipzig three years ago.
And he is now urging the Old Trafford hierarchy to snap up Nkunku from his former club.As a result of Rangnick’s recommendation, United scouts watched Nkunku, 24, at Bochum last weekend, when the France Under-21s international scored the only goal of the game. That was his 25th of the season in 36 appearances, stats that back up Rangnick’s view that Nkunku - who has a £62million buyout clause in his contract - is one of Europe’s emerging talents.
Rangnick is on record saying it is "obvious" that United need to bring in a new striker this summer with Edinson Cavani set to leave the club when his contract expires, plus doubts over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who, even if he stays at Old Trafford, will be 38 before the end of next season.
