Question Time: SAGE experts demand circuit breaker with 3 tiers 'worst of all worlds'

mirror.co.ukThe 3-tier lockdown is too confusing and a circuit breaker is the only way of getting on top of test and trace, a Government scientific adviser has said.
Professor Sir Mark Walport, a member of Downing Street's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), said unless a brief nationwide lockdown is enforced the UK will be "chasing behind".
Speaking on Thursday's Question Time via videolink, the scientist said: "The reason the numbers aren't going down is because we're on average making too many social contacts. "And so we know that lockdown works because when this pandemic started with tight restrictions it did come under control."
