When Premier League club chiefs meet at the league's shareholders' meeting this week, it’s expected to be a fiery affair. The news that broke over the weekend, of 'Project Big Picture’ and Manchester United and Liverpool being driving forces behind changes to reshape the face of the English game, will very much be at the forefront of affairs.
The two clubs have been working for three years on a radical set of proposals to reshape both the Premier League and EFL, in what would be the biggest overhaul within English football since 1992.
Already the Premier League has chastised EFL chief executive Rick Parry for his support, while a statement also labelled proposals as “damaging”.
