Priti Patel has promised to review the government’s controversial hostile environment policy following the Windrush scandal.
The Home Secretary said the deportation and wrongful detention of people who had lived in the UK for decades after coming to the UK from Caribbean countries was “unspeakable”.
She said recommendations from a damning report into the scandal would be implemented in full, including a review of the so-called hostile environment, brought in when Theresa May was Home Secretary.
