Hasnat Khan, the heart surgeon who Princess Diana fell ‘madly in love with’, has broken his 25-year silence. Khan has opened up for the first time to talk about how the couple first met and to reveal he advised the Princess against her bombshell interview with Panorama.
Hasnat told the Daily Mail he clearly remembers the first time he crossed paths with one of the most famous women in the world.
Incredibly, there was an Irish connection to the couple meeting in 1995. They met on August 27 when Diana paid a visit to one of Dr Khan’s patients.
The patient was Joe Toffolo, who was having triple heart bypass surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital under the supervision of Dr Khan.
