Prime Minister Boris Johnson's wife Carrie has welcomed their second child, a baby daughter, on Thursday morning. A spokesperson confirmed the news in a statement: "Prime Minister Boris Johnson and wife Carrie have announced the birth of a healthy baby girl at a London hospital earlier today". "Both mother and daughter are doing very well.The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS maternity team for all their care and support." The couple walked into the hospital at 7.40 am this morning, with police officers securing the site two hours ahead of the arrival, MailOnline reports.
The publication added that Carrie was accompanied by Boris and two police offers into a side entrance with an overnight bag in tow.
