Boris Johnson has accepted that he is “personally responsible” for the Tories’ humiliating by-election defeat in North Shropshire but tried to blame media reporting of Downing Street lockdown parties for getting in the way of his messaging.
The Prime Minister said the North Shropshire result was “very disappointing” for the Tories and admitted he understood the party’s frustrations with him.
