Premier League spokesman responds to claim season is about to be scrapped

The Premier League has dismissed claims made by Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino about the current season being cancelled. The Serie A club’s director had suggested that the Premier League campaign was set to be brought to an abrupt halt because of the coronavirus crisis.

Marino, whose Udinese outfit are controlled by the Pozzo family, who own Premier League club Watford, claimed the Premier League was poised to follow in the footsteps of the Belgian Federation, which announced the cancellation of the Pro League campaign last week.
