Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick insists he is not worried by Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring drought. Ronaldo has gone six games without scoring - the worst spell in his career since he was last at United in 2008-09 - and he failed to score an open goal by miscueing a left-footed shot in the 1-1 draw against Southampton.

Edinson Cavani's injury could ensure Ronaldo continues up front for the visit of Brighton on Tuesday and Rangnick says he would only be concerned if United were struggling to create chances. "He would have wished to score, I would have wished him to score, the whole team would have wished him to score," Rangnick said. "I think today he had good chances, probably one of the biggest chances in the game was when he went around the goalkeeper and it was cleared off the line. "He had good moments in the second-half.

It's not only Cristiano, as a team we create enough chances, I would be more worried if we had one or two, or maybe three chances per game. "If you are not able to keep a clean sheet when you are 1-0 or 2-0 up, then it's important to score a second or third goal.

This is one of our two major points of criticism, that we not just effective enough if we compare the amount of chances we create and the amount of goals we score." Cavani arrived with the rest of the United squad at the team hotel on Friday night but withdrew on Saturday morning with a groin injury.
