A pregnant woman sacked after just one week in her new job because she had taken two days off with severe morning sickness has been awarded a £23,000 payout.
Kendal Wright was fired from her job as an administrator at Manchester-based legal firm Gowing Law Solicitors after taking sick leave twice for hyperemesis gravidarum.
On March 25 last year, just a week after hiring her, the firm sent her an email telling her she was being sacked because bosses 'couldn’t rely' on her because of her illness.
But a tribunal heard the city centre firm admitted Ms Wright had been unfairly dismissed because the reasons were linked to her pregnancy.
