Good Morning Britain star Piers Morgan has hit out at "wokies" over an image shared by ITV showing his former female colleagues dressed up to mark International Women’s Day.Piers' former female co-hosts including Susanna Reid and Ranvir Singh posed for pictures, dressed in pink, red and peach clothing. He took to Twitter to argue it was “great to see” they were “dressing up in pink and proudly identifying as women”.

But he argued that if he had suggested ITV should take photo, he would have been branded “sexist”. The loudmouth star fumed: “Of course, had I suggested they do this, the wokies would have branded me a sexist gender-stereotype-promoting transphobic patronising monster…”Lorraine Kelly, Holly Willoughby, Charlene White and Kate Garraway also feature in the snap.Piers' tweet received mixed views from his followers. One wrote: "You will find a way in news that has nothing to do with you...

just so you tell the world who you are by saying you are not that..."Another said: "All dressed in pink? We're seeing a different photo."If I'm correct and there's also red and orange, sort of defies the 'all women in pink' stereotype tweet."A third made a dig at Piers, saying: "Still bitter about the ITV thing after all this time…"While a fourth added: "That's because you don't get to decide how women should dress!"International Women's Day stems from the socialist feminist movements of the early 20th century. The event, which was officially adopted by the UN in 1996, acts a day of acknowledgement and celebration of the plight of women, which is celebrated worldwide. For more of the latest showbiz news from Daily Star, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here..
