The Good Morning Britain host, 55, paid his respects live on air after hearing the news, as Ian died from "severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure".
Ian's daughter Roxanne has set up a GoFundMe page to raise costs for his forthcoming funeral ceremony. Although Roxanne had hoped to reach a £5,000 goal "to help pay for the funeral and future memorial" - donors have exceeded her expectations as her page has now raised over £7,000.
