Piers Morgan has had his say after Sharon Osbourne apologised for defending him - insisting she was "bullied and shamed" into making the statement.

Piers suddenly left his presenting role at Good Morning Britain on Tuesday after his views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked a furious backlash.

He cast doubt on the veracity of a number of claims made during the interview, including that Meghan had struggled with suicidal thoughts.

And old friend Sharon defended the controversial journalist over in the States, appearing on CBS chat show The Talk and remarking: "I feel like I'm about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist." Sharon
