Another shooting impacted a Hollywood set Wednesday in Chicago, and this time, it happened near the set of NBC’s Chicago Fire.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Timothy Olyphant is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series “Lucky.” Variety has learned that Olyphant has joined the series alongside previously announced lead Anya Taylor-Joy as well as recently announced cast member Annette Bening. “Lucky” is based on the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. The book was a New York Times bestseller and a selection for Reese Witherspoon’s Reese’s Book Club.

Crowder, who vexed Raylan on and off throughout the original series creation from the Elmore Leonard novels, has escaped with the help of a girlfriend posing as a guard supposed to escort him to another prison that will help a physical malady. And just like that, Givens is faced with the prospect of returning once more before Crowder makes it across the border of Mexico with his accomplice. In the interview that follows this recap, Michael Dinner — who hatched the series revival with David Andron and directed three episodes including tonight’s finale — acknowledges there is every possibility that Givens could be back for one more showdown. The episode closes with Givens not answering the cell phone call to focus on his daughter. For the moment, anyway.

Bullets flew, and moonshine was consumed. Still, Givens always made time for a philosophical and deep conversation with his prey before the final showdown. Raylan would learn something humanizing about his nemesis’ motivation and, inevitably, realize he himself could be a dick on occasion. These talks often featured Boyd Crowder, Givens’ frenemy played by Walton Goggins with a mouthful of Biden-white teeth, a shock of black hair and buckets of country wisdom. They were so humanizing that you often forgot Boyd was a white supremacist turned drug dealer.

Quentin Tarantino helped revive Justified for an unlikely new series, co-showrunner Michael Dinner has revealed.Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dinner detailed how they came to adapt Elmore Leonard’s crime novel City Primeval, which centres on a detective who tracks down ‘Oklahoman Wildman’ Clement Mansell in Detroit.“A lot of people had wanted to make this book before,” he said. “It almost got made by [Sam] Peckinpah years ago as a movie, and [Quentin] Tarantino wanted to make it as a movie, and a lot of people wanted to play with it in television, streaming or cable.”Dinner said he then received a surprise call from Timothy Olyphant, who was filming Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood at the time.

Olyphant is the latest addition to the cast of the six-episode series alongside previously announced cast members Zazie Beetz and Claire Danes. The official logline for the show reads, “An investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures in present day New York City.” Character details are currently being kept under wraps. Olyphant recently wrapped filming on “Justified: City Primeval,” in which he revived the character of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens whom he played for six seasons on the FX series “Justified.” Olyphant’s other TV credits include the Disney+ “Star Wars” shows “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” as well as “Fargo” at FX and “Santa Clarita Diet” at Netflix. He is also known for his role in the HBO series “Deadwood,” which was revived as an HBO film in 2019. Another incident on the set of the FX drama Justified: City Primeval has occurred.Police in Chicago confirmed that a person threw an incendiary device toward the set of the program filming in the city's South Loop area on Monday, Deadline reported Tuesday.No one was injured in the incident, in which authorities said occurred at around 10:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Desplaines Street, as a person lit a device and threw it toward the set, ABC7 reported.

FX Chairman John Landgraf was asked about the July 21 shooting incident on the Chicago set of the network’s upcoming limited series Justified: City Primeval. As Deadline first reported, the incident involved cars whose occupants were engaged in a gunfight smashing through safety barricades. It led to a temporary production halt and the implementation of additional security measures, including bringing in a trained hostage negotiator and his team, which includes former members of the Navy SEALs and Army Rangers.
