Cala Mijas 2023 has added three new artists to their festival lineup that will take place later this summer.M83, Underworld and Baxter Dury will join the previously announced performers The Strokes, Florence + the Machine, Arcade Fire, Moderat, Foals, Belle & Sebastian, Metronomy, IDLES and more.The festival will showcase both international and local talent on the Costa Del Sol in the south of Spain on August 31 – September 2.Baxter Dury is set to play on the festival’s opening day on Thursday, August 31. M83 are set to play on Friday September 1 as well as the British electronic duo Underworld.

The first reunion gig by the classic lineup of Blink-182 will not be waiting till the officially set beginning of the band’s tour in May, as previously expected. Instead, the reconstituted group’s first gig together since 2014 will be happening this Friday at the Coachella Festival. The late-breaking development was revealed not with any great flourishes or hoopla, but with the group’s name simply showing up on the festival schedule when it was released late Wednesday night, tucked in modestly among set times for hundreds of long-since-announced artists.

Billie Eilish and Labrinth are reportedly set to officially release their song from the Euphoria soundtrack, ‘Never Felt So Alone’.The track appears on the season two soundtrack of Zendaya’s hit HBO show, and Labrinth joined Eilish at her Los Angeles gig last December to perform the song.Though no official recorded version has yet seen the light of day, both Labrinth and Eilish have teased that it could be arriving next week.When the season two soundtrack arrived on Spotify, ‘Never Felt So Alone’ was absent, and has only existed on the show itself. The rest of generative AI’s capabilities are seen as a threat, or as RIAA President Mitch Glazer put it in a recent op-ed, as “empty knock offs and chatbot impersonations,” from which true, human-made music must be protected.  Meanwhile, The U.S. Copyright Office has put forward new requirements when registering copyright for AI-generated content: they will consider the extent to which the human had creative control over the work’s expression and “actually formed” the traditional elements of authorship. Both perspectives draw a hard line between human creativity and AI activity, rather than looking at ways the two can collaborate and co-create.

Thania Garcia During a brief headlining-making (like most everything he’s up to these days) stop in London for Fashion Week, Kanye West made an appearance at an afterparty where he previewed some new songs he and James Blake had recorded. In videos captured by partygoers, West appeared in good spirits as he took over the DJ booth and adjusted the equalizers on the turntables while a few seconds of a song began to play. He cut the track shortly after those seconds but played a song for a bit longer after that (difficult to decipher whether it was the same one or different). Fans quickly drew comparisons that the longer track previewed sounded like the 2016 Blake track “Always.”
