Check out the politically-motivated new single below.Announced today (May 17), the new project will mark the sixth studio album from the indie singer, and arrives fresh off the back of Bugg completing a tour with Britpop legends Liam Gallagher and John Squire.It is set to arrive on September 20 via RCA, and will be the singer, songwriter and guitarist’s first full-length LP since he shared ‘Saturday Night Sunday Morning’ back in 2021.To celebrate the announcement, Bugg has today shared a new teaser of the album – dropping the intense new single ‘Zombieland’.The track comes as a gritty, guitar-driven anthem, and sees Bugg pay homage to rock icons like Nirvana in his sound, while the lyrics highlight the struggle of those feeling broken by the inescapable daily grind.

The Lathums have announced a run of three intimate UK shows to take place in July this year – read on for all the details.The band will kick off the run at The Fire Station in Sunderland on July 12, before heading to Stoke’s Keele University the following day and finally Asylum at Hull University on July 18.These dates join the previously announced major hometown show at Wigan’s Robin Park on July 19, where they will be joined by Jake Bugg and Brooke Combe. Tickets for the three new shows go on sale at 10am on April 12, and all tickets can be found here.The Lathums will also be part of the line-up for Liam Gallagher’s Malta Weekender in September, as well as Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival in August.The band’s second album ‘From Nothing To A Little Bit More’ was released in March last year and it earned the band their second Number One LP in the UK album charts.The Lathums then followed up the album with the standalone single ‘Thoughts Of A Child’ in October.

John Squire has explained why The Stone Roses never made a new album during their 2011 reunion tour.It has now been 30 years since the Manchester legends released a record, with their last full-length project ‘Second Coming’ dropping in 1994. Although the band reunited briefly for a 2011 tour, and released two singles in 2016 before their split in 2019, they never made any new albums – and now, guitarist Squire has said why.In an interview with The Guitarist (via Music News), Squire said that “no one wanted to do it – so it turned out to not be that frustrating at all.”Squire went on to say that had the group recorded a third album, his guitar playing would be “more measured and respectful”.

Jake Bugg has announced a 2024 headline tour that will see him perform in smaller towns and venues across the UK and Ireland. Milburn will be reforming for a one-off hometown show for Sheffield’s Rock N Roll Circus in 2024.The band will be headlining the third of four nights at the circus-themed event at Don Valley Bowl on Saturday August 31. They have also hand-picked their opening acts, with Jake Bugg, The Selecter, The Rifles, Seb Lowe and Gia Ford all set to appear.“Don Valley has a special place in our hearts and to return at the top of a bill which has so many great artists on it, is an honour,” said Milburn frontman Joe Carnall.“Last time we performed at Don Valley it was really wet, so we’re chuffed that we’ve got a big top to play in this time.

Primavera Sound Madrid 2023 has cancelled its opening day due to safety reasons amid “severe” weather.As explained in a statement posted to the festival’s social media pages, the first day (June 8) has been called off “due to the persistent severe weather experienced in recent weeks that have affected the pre-production of the festival and in view of the adverse forecast that is expected for Thursday with heavy storms during the afternoon”.“Primavera Sound Madrid continues and will open its doors in the Ciudad del Rock in Arganda del Rey on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10,” they added. “We will continue to keep you informed of any new developments through the festival’s official communication channels on the website and social networks.

A teenage boy has tragically died on the opening day of a music festival. Police confirmed a 16-year-old died at the In It Together festival in Old Park Farm, Neath Port Talbot, on Friday.
