A Greater Manchester town centre has been dealt a blow after a coffee giant announced its plans to leave. Costa Coffee has confirmed its branch in Wigan town centre will shut for the final time on Sunday, June 25.

In the last few months, we have been asking residents where the best area, park, cafes and bars are in Greater Manchester. Recently we went down to the magical place of Wigan to ask people for their recommendations.

Find ticket details below.Announced today (March 8), the newly-announced acts will be the ones joining the singer’s shows with High Flying Birds later this year, including a slot at Robin Park in Wigan and one at Alexandra Palace Park on July 20.The first of the live shows kicks off at Cardiff Castle on Wednesday, July 17, and sees the band joined by special guests The Big Moon.Taking place the next day (July 18), the Wigan show will see the former Oasis member line-up two artists as support: The Lottery Winners – who recently topped the UK album charts with their latest LP ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’ – and rising Manchester band The Slow Reader’s Club.As for the performance in London two days later (July 20), Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be supported by indie legends Echo & The Bunnymen, as well as 86TVs – comprised of renowned indie brothers Hugo, Felix and Will White.The final of the huge headline shows this summer is the upcoming set at The Piece Hall in Halifax.

Richard Ashcroft will be returning to his hometown of Wigan for a huge show next year.The former frontman of The Verve will play Robin Park on July 20, marking his first show in Wigan for over 25 years.“After 25 years, I’m back playing in my hometown. Looking forward to an amazing night in Wigan,” he said in a press release.The Wigan show won’t be the only large-scale Ashcroft plays next summer, however.

Richard Ashcroft has announced a huge homecoming tour will take place in Wigan next summer. The gig will take place at Robin Park, Wigan on Saturday, 20 July.
