The Verve's Richard Ashcroft to perform in Wigan for first time in 25 years
manchestereveningnews.co.ukRichard Ashcroft has announced a huge homecoming tour will take place in Wigan next summer. The gig will take place at Robin Park, Wigan on Saturday, 20 July.
This will be the first time Richard has performed in Wigan for over 25 years. The musician, singer, and songwriter is best known as the singer and occasional rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band The Verve.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, 1 December at 9am. Tickets are available for purchase from either Gigs and Tours or Ticketmaster. He first came into the spotlight as part of The Verve. The English rock band formed in Wigan in 1990 and were led by Richard Ashcroft on lead vocals, alongside guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury.
