Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell has recalled the time that Dave Grohl once asked him to punch him in the face.The frontman discusses his memory of the bizarre interaction with the Foo Fighters main man in a clip that has been shared from the new Razorlight documentary Fall To Pieces.The film, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in the UK now, chronicles the first meeting between Borrell and drummer/songwriter Andy Burrows in 11 years, followed by the story of the band’s 2021 comeback shows.In the clip, Borrell is sitting in a car reflecting on his Grohl encounter. “Yeah, I punched Dave Grohl in the face, yeah,” he says.

Isle Of Wight Festival has confirmed more acts for its 2025 line-up, including Razorlight, English Teacher, Yard Act and more.The annual event is due to take place from June 19 to 22 at Seaclose Park, and back in September it was confirmed that Justin Timberlake, Sting and Stereophonics would be joining as headliners.A new batch of acts have now been added to the line-up. Razorlight have announced their massive outdoor Darlington summer 2025 gig set to take place this August.Johnny Borrell and co are set to take over the Darlington Arena Stadium in County Durham on August 23 for an all-dayer. The likes of Ocean Colour Scene, Jake Bugg, White Lies, Tom A. Kaiser Chiefs have spoken to NME about their huge homecoming show in Leeds to mark the 20th anniversary of their 2005 debut album ‘Employment’.The band will play the seven-times Platinum, UK Number Two record in full at their biggest headline show to date when they hit Temple Newsam Park on May 31, 2025.They’re set to be joined by some massive names from the ’00s indie era such as Razorlight, The Cribs and We Are Scientists – all of whom will be showcasing fan-favourite classic albums in their entirety to mark their own 20th anniversaries.Speaking to NME, frontman Ricky Wilson and bassist Simon Rix explained that they wanted the event to be a “time capsule” from those heady days, and told us how they’ll be “doing nostalgia properly”.“Over the last 20 years, people kept telling us, ‘Oh, it’s the first album I bought’ or ‘I bought it when I was this age’, ‘My mum and dad used to listen to it’,” said Rix. “It’s not only the songs, it’s what it means to people and what people were doing at the time.

Razorlight have shared a quirky new single called ‘Taylor Swift = US Soft Propaganda’ – check it out below.Announced today (October 4), the track marks the latest single the band have shared from ‘Planet Nowhere’ – their first album with the classic line-up since 2008.Coming in at two minutes long, the song comes as an upbeat anthem for the album, and sees frontman Johnny Borrell deliver his charismatic vocals on top of a summer-inspired guitar riff.“This sounds like a filler on a Jonathan Richman album / which means this is probably the best song we’re gonna put on this one,” he says in the tongue-in-cheek opening lines.Despite the title, the lyrics of the song actually don’t mention pop sensation Taylor Swift at all – something the band joke helps them avoid being cursed with what the frontman calls “The Taylor Swift fatwa”.“We were in the studio and Björn went in to record a guitar overdub on ‘Zombie Love’. He started playing this riff, I said ‘What’s that?’.

Check out new single ‘Scared Of Nothing’ below, along with our interview with the band.Arriving on October 25, the album sees singer Johnny Borrell, guitarist Bjorn Agren, drummer Andy Burrows and bassist Carl Dalemo return to the studio for their first full length since third album ‘Slipway Fires’.The line-up, which also released the chart-topping self-titled album ‘Razorlight’ in 2006 featuring Number 1 single ‘America’, announced their reunion in 2021. That year, they released two new songs as part of a Best Of album, ‘Razorwhat?’Speaking to NME, Borrell admitted he had been ready to end the band if they hadn’t been able to make further new music.“I said to everyone: ‘If new music doesn’t work, let’s move on.’ I was ready to ceremonially say goodbye to Razorlight,” he said.

Razorlight have announced that they will be rescheduling their upcoming show in London and added two new dates to their 2023 UK tour.The band were originally set to end their upcoming UK tour with a performance on April 29 at Brixton’s O2 Academy, however given recent circumstances of the venue’s closure, the event will now take place at the Eventim Apollo on May 12.“Due to recent events at O2 Academy Brixton our London show has been rescheduled to the Eventim Apollo on 12th May,” the band said. “We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused but it was either this or risk losing our London show.

Johnny Borrell has formed a new band, Jealous Nostril.The Razorlight frontman has recruited Mystery Jets’ Jack Flanagan and ElliS D for his latest venture, with Borrell explaining of the new band name: “Jealous Nostril, a binary system… One is fulfilled, the other isn’t.”Asked in an accompanying press statement if the name is a drug reference, Borrell replied: “The half of my north London friends who still party hear it as cocaine, and the half who have been through rehab ask me if it’s referencing Pranayama yoga breathing.“We’re definitely neither a coke or a yoga band! I actually think I just wanted a name that would help people under-estimate the band.”Jealous Nostril have released their debut single ‘Phase 6’ today (September 29), which was recorded in a single afternoon at Eastcote Studios in London.“I just think it is that simple: bands should sound like bands. Most don’t these days,” Borrell said of the single.“When it comes to the process of getting the songs down, we’re pretty much more Jack White than Jack White.
