Shed Seven have scored their second Number One album with their special 30th-anniversary tribute album ‘Liquid Gold’.The band – comprised of Rick Witter, Paul Banks, Tom Gladwin, Tim Wills and Rob Maxfield – previously landed the top spot at the beginning of this year with their sixth studio effort ‘A Matter Of Time’ and made history as the British rock band with the longest gap between their first LP and first Number One album with 26 years and three months in between.It only took them 10 months to claim their second top spot on the charts, putting them in the same company as the likes of The Beatles, Elton John, Diana Ross, Queen, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and ABBA, who have also managed two or more Number One albums in a year.Speaking about earning the Number One spot in a statement to Official Charts, the band shared: “Can’t quite really believe that we’re standing here once again this year, but this is our second Number One of 2024, which is absolutely mind-blowing. We would like to thank our amazing label, Cooking Vinyl, all our crew, and most of all, all the fans who’ve been getting out there this week and getting behind us.“We’re immensely proud, and we can’t wait to get out on tour and celebrate what an amazing year we’ve had.

Bring Me The Horizon are celebrating one billion streams, and are on course to top the UK album charts.The Sheffield rockers were confirmed as having hit the first milestone yesterday (October 1), when they revealed that they had surpassed one billion streams in the UK. To mark the occasion, frontman Oli Sykes was presented with a Billion Award by the BRITs.Taking to X/Twitter to mark the landmark occasion, the BRITs posted a photo of the frontman with the trophy along with the caption: “Following their first ever BRIT Awards win earlier in the year for Best Rock/Alternative Act, @bmthofficial receive their BRIT Billion Award for hitting one billion streams in the UK.”It comes as no surprise that the band managed to achieve the award this year, as their latest studio album ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’ arrived in May and went on to become one of their biggest releases to date.

From there, they will make stops in Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Margate, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds, Oxford, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, Bournemouth and Nottingham.

Shed Seven have shared their collaboration with Pete Doherty, ‘Throwaways’ from their new album ‘A Matter Of Time’.The track, which you can listen to below, sees The Libertines man share vocals with frontman Rick Witter.Speaking about how the collaboration came about, Witter recently told NME: “We played just before The Libertines on the main stage [at the Bingley Weekender in 2022] and while we were doing our set, I just looked at the side of the stage and discovered that Peter was stood there with my family watching the gig and he was singing every word.“So after we’d finished our gig, I went over and he was telling me that in the ’90s – pre-Libertines – he’d sit on his bed with his guitar and learn Shed Seven songs, which I thought was pretty cool.
