Discovery raised the hackles of some in the film community with last month’s launch of Max — the reskinned and renamed version of HBO Max — because the new service’s content details pages consolidated writers, directors, producers and others under a single “creators” heading. Five weeks after issuing a mea culpa and promising to fix the situation, WBD has now updated the listings in Max. The updates appear to be live on platforms including the max.com website and iOS and will be rolling out across all device platforms this week. For example, on Max, Oscar-winning film “Raging Bull,” starring Robert De Niro, now includes the following listings: Directors: Martin Scorsese; Writers: Paul Schrader, Mardik Martin; Producers: Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff; Based on Source Material by: Jake La Motta, Joseph Carter, Peter Savage. When Max launched on May 23, the service grouped all of those individuals under a single “creators” heading.

Discovery’s newly launched Max lumped film directors and writers under a single “creators” heading — a change that prompted a backlash from filmmakers and Hollywood’s directors and writers guilds. Now the company is changing the listings back, blaming the issue on a technical “oversight.” “We agree that the talent behind the content on Max deserve their work to be properly recognized,” a Max spokesperson said in a statement to Variety. “We will correct the credits, which were altered due to an oversight in the technical transition from HBO Max to Max and we apologize for this mistake.” The move drew ire amid the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, in which the union is seeking to reach a new contract with major studios.

Dolph Lundgren confirmed a "Drago" spinoff is still in the works and says he wants Sylvester Stallone to "get involved." Lundgren spoke to Fox News Digital about the project while promoting his new film, "The Best Man." The actor stars alongside Luke Wilson and Brendan Fehr in the action thriller, which was released April 21. "There was a writer who wrote a script [for "Drago"], which wasn't very good," Lundgren said. "So, everybody's waiting for a new writer to come in and try to shape it." The news of the "Drago" spinoff in development at MGM Studios created controversy because Stallone initially criticized the project.The actor called out producer Irwin Winkler and his sons, Charles and David, for "picking clean the bones" of the "Rocky" character Drago.

Jordan’s “Creed III” is now playing in theaters, which means a lot of moviegoers may find themselves asking the same question: Where the hell is Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa? Stallone starred opposite Jordan in “Creed” and “Creed II,” even earning an Oscar nomination for supporting actor thanks to his role in the 2015 first installment. But Stallone is entirely absent from “Creed III.” While Rocky’s name gets name-dropped a couple times in the script, his whereabouts are never explained. Stallone’s absence in “Creed III” marks the first time in nine films and 47 years that a movie in the “Rocky” film franchise does not feature Rocky Balboa. The reason behind Stallone’s departure is twofold: He wasn’t the biggest fan of “Creed III’s” creative direction, and his clash against longtime franchise producer Irwin Winkler remains ongoing.

Wise Guys, according to reports.The actor, who made his name in crime dramas like Goodfellas, Casino and The Godfather Part II, will return to the genre for a film directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Bugsy).Wise Guys will follow the lives of Italian-American crime bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, who both operated their respective families in the middle of the 20th century. In 1957, Genovese attempted and failed to assassinate Costello.

Robert De Niro will once again work with Goodfellas scribe Nicholas Pileggi on an upcoming mob film titled Wise Guys.Pileggi, who also co-wrote the De Niro–starring Martin Scorsese film Casino, will be working with director Barry Levinson to craft the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.The film will be an interesting challenge for De Niro, as the 79-year-old two-time Academy Award–winner will be playing dual roles as the real-life Italian American mob bosses and rivals Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, sources revealed to the publication. Back together: Robert De Niro, 79, will team up again with Goodfellas scribe Nicholas Pileggi to star in the film Wise Guys, about the rivalry between real-life Italian American mob bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello; seen in April in Las VegasWise Guys will have an additional Goodfellas connection, as that film's producer, Irwin Winkler, is a producer on the upcoming film.Pileggi wrote Goodfellas based on his 1985 non-fiction book Wiseguy, though the new film doesn't appear to have any connection to his similarly titled book.  The movie will be the first original feature for Warner Bros.

In 1957, Genovese tried (and failed) to assassinate Costello, who was ultimately injured and attempted to retire from the mafia.

Robert De Niro will star in the Warner Bros. mob drama Wise Guys from director Barry Levinson, Deadline can confirm. The project reunites the duo following their collaborations on the Emmy-nominated HBO TV movie The Wizard of Lies, which had De Niro playing Bernie Madoff, and Magnolia Pictures’ 2008 dramedy, What Just Happened, as well as the director’s earlier films Wag the Dog and Sleepers.
