Peacocks and Jaeger owner Edinburgh Woollen Mill in administration with 866 jobs at risk

Edinburgh Woollen Mill, owner of brands including Peacocks and Jaeger, has entered administration. The firm has placed its own-brand stores into administration - there were 384 stores that bear the Edinburgh Woollen Mill name employing 2,571 people trading before lockdown It's also put its Ponden Home brand into administration, along with its 73 branches.

Ponden Home has 329 staff. Both Peacocks and Jaeger will continue to trade for time being but, 750 people will be made redundant at Edinburgh Woollen Mill and 116 at Ponden Home.

The company also runs Peacocks and Jaeger - which have been given a two week extension to find a rescue deal. Joint administrator Tony Wright at FRP said: “Recent months have proven extremely challenging for many
