Partick Thistle have saved over £75k after the overwhelming majority of loyal Jags fans passed up a season ticket refund. With five Firhill home games still to be played before the Scottish Championship was declared over in last month's SPFL vote, the club moved to partially refund any of their 1,800 season ticket holders that needed the cash spent on games that will never be played.

A deadline of May 1 was set for supporters to claim but fans that were able to go without the money were asked to be mindful of the financial impact of claiming.

Only 64 fans took relegated Thistle up on the offer - meaning the club will dish out under £5,000 instead of the £80k they would have been liable for had every season ticket holder claimed.
