Scottish Government advisor has voiced her opposition to the reopening of indoor pubs amid a significant cluster of cases in Aberdeen.
Professor Devi Sridhar said that the opening of indoor hospitality “seems to be the step that causes super-spreading events”.
Indoor pubs, bars and restaurants have been open in Scotland since July 15. The Scottish Government has not reported a single death from coronavirus over the past 20 days, but the number of confirmed cases has spiked in the last 24 hours.
A cluster of cases in Aberdeen has caused significant concern among health officials, which has resulted in Nicola Sturgeon moving to impose more restrictions on the city.
