NHS nurse raises £30,000 to connect coronavirus patients with their families

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA nurse has raised a staggering £30,000 to pay for tablets so that coronavirus patients in hospital can speak to their loved ones.
Leona Harris is a staff nurse on a Covid-19 isolation ward at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury and has witnessed first-hand the devastation caused by the lockdown, which restricts families from visiting patients to try and slow the spread of the virus.
Along with her husband Nick, she launched the #staytogether campaign so that critically-ill patients have a chance to keep in touch with their friends and families when they cannot visit hospitals.
The money has been partially raised by a GoFundMe page which generated £2,600, but a further £27,500 was generated by Nick's colleagues at Manchester-based law firm
