A six-year-old girl disappeared from the street outside her home and her dead body was found weeks later. Carol Ann Stephens went missing and was murdered in 1959 but her killer was never found and it has remained an unsolved crime.
The case was recently re-investigated by a team of former detectives and crime experts led by former Dyfed-Powys Police chief constable Jackie Roberts, who oversaw the investigation in the disappearance of murdered Welsh schoolgirl April Jones.
They have found new information relating to a prime suspect in the case, reports Wales Online. Around midday on April 7, Carol was sent from her home to the corner shop to buy cigarettes for her mother Mavis and then went back "outside to play" - it was the last time
