Netflix confirms sixth and final season of The Crown after cancellation

The Crown will return for a sixth and final season, Netflix has confirmed. The show was originally going to end after the fifth series but is now getting one more season in news that will no doubt delight its loyal fans.

Olivia Colman will play the Queen for the upcoming fourth series and fans will get two seasons instead of one with the next Queen, Imelda Staunton.

Helena Bonham Carter will return as the Queen's sister Princess Margaret for one season and Lesley Manville will take over the role for the last two.
