The mum of a teenager who drowned on the hottest day of the year has died following a battle with coronavirus. Muhammad Bilal Zeb, 18, died while swimming in a river on July 31, when temperatures shot above 30 degrees.

A post published yesterday reads: "Bilal's mother has sadly passed away." Muhammad was swimming in the River Wharfe near Linton Falls in Grassington, North Yorkshire, when he was dragged underwater.
