Mum gobsmacked as Hermes driver opens her front door to throw parcel inside

Next thing he knows, he heard the door open and a parcel being flung in."The woman said she assumed her partner was exaggerating.However, when she checked her emails, she saw the driver had sent her the proof.The mum added: "He opened the door, took a photo and just flung the parcel.

I didn't think they were allowed to do that!"The woman states she didn't know the driver and had not made any previous arrangements about deliveries with the firm.She said she would have been "a bit scared" if she was on her own but, "probably would have said something".The incident comes after a previous driver who couldn't reach her had knocked and put their parcel behind the gate.The woman also said one of her friend's told her she had a similar experience, with a delivery driver handing her a parcel inside her house as she sat on the sofa with a cup of tea.A formal complaint to Hermes had not been raised with the company, she said.A spokesperson for Hermes said: "We have raised this with the local team who have spoken to the courier involved."It is clearly not acceptable and we will ensure it does not happen again.”The news comes after another Hermes driver hit headlines last month after they left a 'signed for' package worth £100 in the bin.Get all the biggest Lifestyle news straight to your inbox.
