A large public park and nature reserve is to be replaced by a new high school after Bolton Council agreed to rip-up land for development.
Ownership of Haslam Park, off Wigan Road in Deane, will be relinquished by the council and the parkland used by the Department for Education (DfE) to build a new school.
Cabinet member for regeneration, Coun Adele Warren, today entered into an agreement for lease of the 12-acre park with the Secretary of State for Education to develop the site with Great Schools Trust.
