When news of 23-year-old Christian Mbulu's death was announced, it left football shocked.As he passed in May 2020, there was no real way to commemorate him as the world battled the Covid-19 pandemic.
Numbers at funerals were limited, social distancing was in full force and football resided in no man's land.Mbulu was a young defender who started his career at Millwall, before spells at Motherwell, Crewe and Morecambe.A celebration of Mbulu's life will be had this Saturday as Fir Park Corner - a team made up of Motherwell fans - travel south to face Morecambe FC Supporters Team.Ironically, the man who brought him to Fir Park was Stephen Robinson, who was appointed Morecambe boss earlier this year after his late 2020 exit from Motherwell.
