Jurgen Klopp showed why he is the boss as Liverpool claimed a 2-0 win against Inter Milan in the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie to all but book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. The tie at the San Siro looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah popped up late on for the Reds.Firmino - who started the game on the bench but came on Diogo Jota at half-time - flicked home Andrew Robertson's corner to break the deadlock with 15 minutes remaining.Salah then made it 2-0 eight minutes later with a deflected effort to put Liverpool on the brink of qualification for the next round.

Inter had their chances, with the Serie A side hitting the bar through Hakan Calhanoglu with the score still at 0-0, but Klopp's inspired substitutions ensured that the first-leg advantage went to the Reds. The German boss introduced goalscorer Firmino, plus new signing Luis Diaz who showed some nice touches as the Anfield side closed out victory.

Jordan Henderson and James Milner also impressed off the subs bench. Some Liverpool fans doubted Klopp early in the second half when Inter were on top - but they changed their tune after the full-time whistle.Do you think Liverpool will win the Champions League this season?
