Concerning new figures have revealed that scores of people are reported missing to police across South Lanarkshire every month.Between April and December last year, an average of 67 people were reported missing each month – more than two a day.However, this number is dwarfed by the 195 missing persons reported in North Lanarkshire each month, a figure described as “staggering” by Lanarkshire’s top cop, Chief Superintendent Alan Waddell.
Inspector Stephen McManus, of Rutherglen police office, told the Reformer 172 people were reported missing in Rutherglen and Cambuslang alone.
