dailystar.co.ukKate Garraway has opened up about the level of care her husband Derek Draper requires as she shared fees that she won’t be able to pay for his 24-hour care forever.On Thursday, the Good Morning Britian presenter joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa as she gave an insight into her upcoming documentary Caring For Derek.During the peak of the pandemic, Derek contracted Covid-19 and was quickly taken to intensive care where he battled the deadly virus for nearly 400 days.Since leaving the ward, the 54 year old confessed he still requires medical assistance as he continues to battle the long-term effects of the virus.With a long road to recovery still ahead of him, the mum-of-two spoke candidly about her husband’s future with the pair as she continues to provide round the clock care for him since he left the hospital back in April last year.As she appeared on the popular ITV daytime show, Kate confessed her concerns for his ongoing treatment which eats away at a large portion of her monthly income.She told viewers: “I don’t believe we can have 24-hour care forever, you know, there’s a point where money runs out.“It’s a big moment and I was thinking, ‘This isn’t sustainable’.
