A total surprise. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were uninvited to the Queen’s pre-funeral reception. The last-minute decision was something that they found out along with the public.

Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family to host Commonwealth leaders at a reception at Buckingham Palace on Saturday 17 September afternoon. The Princess of Wales, 40, was part of the members of the Royal Family greeting the dignitaries alongside Prince William, 40,  King Charles, 73, and Camilla, 75. Kate, 40, looked elegant as she wore a black dress and long three-strand pearl necklace and matching bracelet, while meeting the leaders of the nations that have the United Kingdom’s monarchy as their head of state.

Sophie Wessex was once offered the Royal title later given to Kate Middleton but her husband Edward stepped in to refuse it. The Queen’s youngest son, Edward, 58, and his wife Sophie shared a strong bond with the monarch before Her Majesty’s death on 8 September.

A man is in police custody after he moved out of the queue of mourners and approached the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall on Friday night.The man was quickly brought down by the police in the hall. Extended members of the Queen’s family were seen at the Prince’s Vigil held at Westminster Hall this evening, Friday 16 September.The late monarch has been Lying-in-State in London since Wednesday and thousands of mourners have filed past to pay their final respects after queuing for hours. Her Majesty the Queen’s four children came together for the sombre affair as they mounted guard at the four corners of the catafalque for 15 minutes. All were in military uniform including Prince Andrew – who was stripped of his military titles last year – and Princess Anne, who the first woman to have taken part in the Vigil of the Princes.

Her Majesty the Queen died last week, and a series of memorial services and tributes have since taken place for the late monarch.The most recent to take place is this evening at Westminster Hall where her four children came together for a 15-minute vigil.The Queen is currently Lying-in-State there ahead of her funeral on Monday.The four siblings all came from Buckingham Palace together, but in separate cars.
