McDonald's staff anxiously handed them over a receipt with a message written on top. Vinny Timmins, 49, and Emily Timmins, 18, said they were recognised on the street after the honest note went viral which highlighted Vinny's lack of hair.

They visited the drive-thru of McDonald's at Stonedale Retail Park in Liverpool but were asked to come and collect their meal inside because the staff were run off their feet. More recently in Liverpool, a McDonald's branch banned all under-18s from entering past 5pm.
