Thousands of McDonald's fans were left disappointed on Wednesday after the fast-food giant announced plans to reopen 39 branches - in the South East only.
The reopenings were announced as part of a phased approach that will slowly spread to the rest of the UK as businesses get back to work.
It included a handful in London and the South East - with six in Peterborough alone - and several in Dublin, Ireland. However, northern fans accused the chain of punishing them by choosing to withhold openings in cities such as Manchester and Leeds.
They said their home towns had being "forgotten", slamming the chain for ignoring fans outside of the south. "Also, McDonald's - why are you only opening Southern sites?
